Overview: Iguassu Falls Golf Club is the current identity of the 18-hole resort course on Avenida das Cataratas in Foz do Iguaçu, represented in the directory by the older Iguassu Golf Club and Resort label. The current destination operator gives par 72 and 7,096 yards from the black tees and credits the project to Erik Larsen. The layout uses broad fairways with strategically placed bunkers and relatively small greens, so approach accuracy matters as much as length. Bermuda fairways and Tifdwarf greens are also specified in the current course description.
History: The original Iguassu Golf Club and Resort course was reported as inaugurated in January 1997. Later resort material describes a substantial reformulation, and course records identify a reopening in 2015 under the Iguassu Falls name. Those are separate milestones: 1997 is retained as the opening of the original 18-hole course, while 2015 explains the modern identity and the post-redevelopment routing now associated with the Wish resort. No earlier hotel or property date is substituted for the golf-course opening.
Did You Know? The current name is a direct reference to the nearby Iguaçu Falls, one of Brazil’s best-known natural landmarks. The course description publishes four tee totals, from 7,096 yards at the black tees to 5,287 yards at the red tees, which gives the resort considerable flexibility for different players. Its location on the Cataratas road also places the golf facility in the same sightseeing corridor as Foz do Iguaçu’s principal falls and park attractions.
