Overview: Nestled within the windswept pine forests and sandy dunes of Skagen at the northern tip of Denmark, Golfklubben Hvide Klit is a spectacular coastal heathland course designed by Anders Amilon. The layout features narrow fairways that wind through native pine trees and expansive sandy waste areas, playing on a sandy subsoil that ensures firm, fast, links-style conditions year-round. The relentless sea winds and the tight forest corridors demand complete strategic discipline and precise ball flight control.
History: Opened in 1971, Hvide Klit was designed to offer a unique wilderness golf experience in Denmark's northernmost peninsula, where the Baltic and North Seas meet. The course has remained remarkably true to its original routing, relying on the raw, coastal sandy dunes and native heather to defend its par and provide an authentic, unspoiled Danish challenge.
Did You Know? The course's name, "Hvide Klit," translates to "White Dune" in Danish, a nod to the spectacular, shifting white sand dunes that frame several holes and provide a striking visual contrast to the lush green fairways and dark pines.
