Overview: Huntingdale Golf Club is a private Melbourne Sandbelt course whose 18-hole layout was designed by C.H. Alison and adapted to the site by curator Sam Beriman. The par-72 course measures about 6,980 yards and is built around the strategic possibilities of sandy ground, mature trees and carefully shaped greens.
History: The club’s origins reach back to earlier Melbourne golf organisations, but the current course opened in 1941 when the Huntingdale name was adopted. Its national identity grew rapidly after the inaugural Australian Masters in 1979, followed by decades of championship golf and a new OCM master-plan project begun in 2023.
Did You Know? Huntingdale hosted the Australian Masters for 30 years, making the club’s name inseparable from one of Australia’s most important professional tournaments.
