Overview: The Arlington Course at Hot Springs Golf & Country Club is a historic William Diddel layout in the Ouachita foothills. The current profile lists 6,713 yards and par 72. Its parkland character comes from mature trees, changing ground and a routing that works with the natural setting rather than imposing a flat grid. The course has the atmosphere of an old Southern club, but its appeal is architectural as well as historic: the holes ask for control, thoughtful angles and reliable distance judgment.
History: Arlington was built in 1927 by William Diddel, one of the most influential American course architects of the period. Hot Springs Golf & Country Club later commissioned Coore & Crenshaw and Ben Crenshaw to renovate the course in 1994. That work gave the historic routing a modern restoration chapter while retaining its connection to Diddel's original design. Arlington is one of the club's two distinct 18-hole courses, alongside the older Park Course.
Did You Know? Hot Springs Golf & Country Club's 36-hole identity spans two very different eras. The Arlington Course represents the 1927 Diddel chapter, while the Park Course traces the club's golf history back to 1898. Reading them together gives the property an unusually long architectural timeline.
