Overview: Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club brings an 18-hole, par-72 course to Iskandar Puteri, Johor, within the greater Johor Bahru and Singapore golf corridor. Ross Watson designed the course around the natural topography of a 1,200-acre residential development, using elevation changes, lakes, waterfalls and broad landscape views to create movement across the round. The course measures about 6,858 yards from the back tees. Its appeal is not just the green setting: the changing lies and water features ask players to choose when to attack and when to favour position.
History: Horizon Hills opened in 2008 as the centrepiece of a large township developed by Gamuda Land and UEM Sunrise. The course was conceived as an international championship layout and quickly became one of the leading golf venues in southern Malaysia. It hosted the Iskandar Johor Open from 2010 to 2012, giving the young course an early place on the professional tournament calendar. The club remains an active golf and leisure facility, with a current official course page and online booking operation at the exact Iskandar Puteri address.
Did You Know? Horizon Hills was built with a strong connection between golf and the surrounding community: fairways run through the development so that homes, parks and landscaped open space form part of the course setting. The official development material describes the course as an 18-hole, par-72 Ross Watson design shaped around the site’s natural contours. That helps explain the course’s visual variety, from raised viewpoints to water-framed holes, without needing to treat the residential setting as separate from the golf experience.
