Overview: Storåbanen is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland course in the Storådalen valley at Holstebro. Poul Erik Hingebjerg designed the routing through gently varied river-valley terrain, where open grassland, water and natural slopes give the greens their main defence. Current course data lists 6,119 metres from the championship tee, approximately 6,692 yards, while the official club page emphasises the 18 greens and the surrounding river landscape. The course has a spacious, understated character, with the terrain and approach shots doing more of the work than artificial spectacle.
History: Holstebro Golfklub was founded in 1970, initially developing nine holes before expanding its original Råsted course. Storåbanen is a separate later development in Storådalen, built as a new 18-hole course around 2007 under the design of Poul Erik Hingebjerg. The two facilities were later brought together through the club's wider history and a 2017 fusion with Storådalens Golfklub. That distinction matters because Holstebro now has several routings, while this directory row is specifically the 18-hole Storåbanen in the valley.
Did You Know? Holstebro Golfklub operates five different golf routings across two sites, including Storåbanen, Skovbanen, Parkbanen, Engbanen and Frøjkbanen. The Storå course is the valley routing, distinct from the older forest course at Råsted. That unusual range means a golfer can experience river-valley, woodland and shorter pay-and-play golf within one club structure.
