Overview: The Maple Course at Hokkaido Classic Golf Club Obihiro is the companion 18-hole routing to the facility's Classic Course. It measures 6,762 yards from the championship tees and plays to par 72 in the current club guide. The Tokachi setting supplies open space, tree-lined sections and gently changing ground, while the shorter total than Classic does not remove the need to plan: the shape of the fairway and the angle into the green still determine how comfortable the next shot will be.
History: Hokkaido Classic Golf Club Obihiro opened in June 1994 as a 36-hole facility designed by Greg Norman and Liselotte Neumann. Maple is one of the two complete routes in that complex, not a shortened loop or a practice course. Its identity comes from the contrast with Classic: the same broad Hokkaido environment is used for a different sequence of holes and a slightly shorter championship yardage, giving visiting golfers a second full round rather than a repetition.
Did You Know? The Maple routing is the slightly shorter of the facility's two full championship courses, but its 6,762-yard scorecard still carries the same par 72 as Classic. That makes the contrast between the two routes architectural rather than merely numerical: golfers get a different sequence of holes and landing choices while staying within the same broad Tokachi landscape.
