Overview: Hoiana Shores Golf Club is a Robert Trent Jones II links course on Vietnam’s central coast, south of Hoi An. The 18-hole routing plays to par 71 and about 7,004 yards from the longest published course set. Rolling dunes, limited vegetation, firm sandy ground and four shoreline holes give the layout a strong coastal identity. The first part of the course moves through inland dunes before the later holes draw closer to the sea, where wind and exposed approaches become increasingly important. The result is a strategic links setting built around natural terrain rather than planted decoration.
History: Hoiana Shores opened in 2019 as the first Robert Trent Jones II course in Vietnam and became the golf component of the Hoiana integrated resort south of Hoi An. The project was developed with a low-impact approach that retained the natural dunes and beach-edge character of the site. Current operator material describes the course as an 18-hole championship links layout and identifies Jones as the designer. The clubhouse and resort setting were added around a course whose main visual language remains sand, sea and open ground.
Did You Know? Hoiana Shores includes a nineteenth “Gamblers” hole in addition to the standard 18-hole routing. The extra hole reflects the resort’s playful side, but the main course is more revealing architecturally: the early holes use rolling dunes and sparse vegetation, while the closing stretch brings several holes into direct contact with the shoreline. Those zones make the round feel like a journey from inland sand to open coast.
