Overview: Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach is an Ernie Els design spread across the Ewa plains. Its 18 holes combine broad fairways with lakes, bunkers and native kiawe, palm and hala vegetation, with the Waianae and Koolau ranges adding a distinctly Oahu backdrop.
History: The course opened in 2009 on land associated with a former sugar plantation near the old Naval Air Station Barbers Point. Hoakalei's official history explains the name as a reflection of a lei and connects it to a Hawaiian story involving Hi'iaka and lehua trees.
Did You Know? Hoakalei hosted the LPGA Tour's Lotte Championship in 2022, bringing a major professional event to the Ewa coast.
