Overview: Hirakata Kokusai Golf Club occupies the urban edge of Hirakata, where a 6,562-yard par-72 route uses broad fairways and controlled changes in elevation to keep the course comfortable for regular play. Its strategic character comes from the placement of trees, bunkers and approach angles rather than from remote scenery.
History: Hirakata Kokusai began its long Osaka-area history in 1959. Hirakata Kokusai opened in September 1959 and is credited to Nobukatsu Marumo. The club has been part of the northern Osaka golf landscape for more than six decades, and its current PGM materials continue to present it as an accessible city-edge course with a full, traditional 18-hole structure.
Did You Know? The course's age is part of the point. It predates much of the modern development around Hirakata, so the mature tree lines and established fairway corridors now make the club feel like a piece of older landscape inside a busy metropolitan area. Being close to the city is part of the course's identity: the 1959 opening established a traditional full-length layout on an urban edge rather than a resort destination.
