Overview: Highland Pines Golf Club is an 18-hole public course in Porter, Texas, routed through the San Jacinto River basin and the pine and hardwood landscape of east Montgomery County. The Texas Golf Association rating record lists a par-72 layout measuring 7,307 yards from the Professional tees, with additional Masters, Members, Forward and First tee sets. The course moves from riverbank ground through tall pines, lakes, meadows and valleys, using elevation change and broad views to give the property a more varied character than its suburban address might suggest. Zeon Zoysia fairways and roughs, together with the club’s Lazer Zoysia greens, are central to the modern agronomic identity. Golf Daily attributes the design to Dave Relford of Tour 18 Design Group, while the operator and development pages identify Tour 18 Incorporated as the project company.
History: Highland Pines opened on November 17, 2022, as a new project from Tour 18 Incorporated and the Pines Collection. The development was planned as a full golf destination rather than a simple municipal layout, with a substantial clubhouse and a course designed around the San Jacinto river basin. Its early history is therefore a story of new construction and regional expansion: the property joins the company’s broader family of golf destinations while establishing its own landscape identity through water, woods, open meadows and changing elevation. The 2026 course material continues to present Highland Pines as an active public course with a strong emphasis on grass quality and visual setting.
Did You Know? Highland Pines uses five official tee sets, and the Texas Golf Association record gives each one a complete par-72 rating. The widest difference is between the 7,307-yard Professional tees and the 4,999-yard First tees, allowing the same routing to be experienced at very different scales.
