Overview: Higashi Nagoya Country Club's East Course is the more topographically active half of a 36-hole property at the foot of Mount Sanage in Toyota, within reach of central Nagoya. This profile follows the A-green routing, listed by the club at 6,805 yards and par 72 from the back tees. The official course guide describes an expressive hill layout with downhill shots, doglegs and water coming into play, while out-of-bounds and undulating greens keep the round demanding all the way to the finish. The East therefore asks for more than a long drive: choosing a safe line and leaving the correct angle into the green are recurring parts of the test.
History: Higashi Nagoya opened on 29 September 1964 and was designed by Giichi Sato. The club's history is unusually rich for a regional course. Its official record includes the Japan Women's Amateur, Japan Amateur, Japan Open, Japan Women's Open and Japan Senior Open, as well as a U.S. Women's Open final qualifying event. Those tournaments help explain the property's continuing championship identity, while the current 36-hole arrangement preserves both the original East-West scale and the character of the land Sato used.
Did You Know? The East Course is not one fixed yardage even within the same A routing. The official guide gives the AG total as 6,805 yards and the BG total as 6,516, a 289-yard difference created by the alternate bent-green configuration. The directory's East A label keeps that distinction visible without treating East B as a second course.
