Overview: Hideout gives public golfers a par-72 round over 18 holes in Monticello’s high desert. Forrest Richardson and Arthur Jack Snyder used elevation, desert terrain, and broad regional views.
History: The course opened around 2001 as a municipal project. Its construction reclaimed a degraded former uranium mill site, turning contaminated industrial land into a public golf and recreation setting.
Did You Know? Hideout is a reclamation story as much as a golf story. The course was built on a former uranium mill site, so its fairways and greens represent the reuse of land that had previously required environmental cleanup.
