Hawk's Nest Golf Club

Overview: Hawk’s Nest Golf Club in Vero Beach is a Jim Fazio design routed over one of Florida’s unusual sand ridges. The private 18-hole course uses steep undulations, wide fairways, tall pines, live oaks and sculpted dunes, with the championship course reaching about 7,000 yards at par 72.

History: The course opened in 1986 and was developed as the longer championship course within The Moorings golf property. Its design deliberately preserved the natural look of the land, avoiding the flat, heavily developed character associated with many Florida courses.

Did You Know? Hawk’s Nest is built on a sand ridge, which explains the pronounced elevation changes that surprise golfers in coastal Florida. The dunes and pine-oak vegetation make the course feel more like a natural inland ridge than a typical flat peninsula layout.
