Overview: Hat Yai Resort & Golf Club is the principal full-size course serving Hat Yai, a southern Thai gateway city close to the Malaysian border. The current scorecard gives 18 holes, par 72 and 6,907 yards, while course records credit Robert McFarland. The layout moves through tree-lined fairways with strategically placed bunkers, water and a natural backdrop outside the city. Its resort setting and practice facilities suit golfers passing through the south as well as players building a longer Songkhla itinerary.
History: Hat Yai Resort is one of the established courses in southern Thailand's Hat Yai golf network. Sources agree on the McFarland design and full 18-hole identity but disagree on whether the course opened in 1993 or 1995, so the profile leaves the year blank. That uncertainty does not change the course's current role: it remains a standing resort course outside Hat Yai with a documented scorecard and a long enough history to serve local, international and Malaysian golfers.
Did You Know? The scorecard shows an unusual concentration of long holes at the finish. The 18th is a par five measuring 550 yards from the blue tees, after a back nine that also includes the long 11th. Hat Yai therefore saves a genuine closing distance test for the last shot of the round rather than ending with a purely ceremonial hole.
