Overview: Harbour Pointe Golf Club is an 18-hole Arthur Hills design in Mukilteo, north of Seattle. The course is built around two distinctly different nines. The front nine crosses wetlands with water in play on every hole and asks for precise target golf, while the back nine rises through rolling ground framed by tall evergreens. The signature 11th is a par four that looks toward Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains before dropping over a steep ledge to a small green. At 7,073 yards and par 72, the course has championship length and a clear visual change at the turn.
History: Arthur Hills designed Harbour Pointe in 1990 as part of the planned community around Mukilteo. The course was quickly recognised beyond the region and was selected as Golf Digest's Best New Public Course for 1991. Its original concept has remained legible: the wetland front nine and hillier back nine deliberately offer different forms of challenge within one round. The course's location and two-part routing continue to define its place in the Puget Sound golf landscape.
Did You Know? Harbour Pointe's 11th hole changes elevation so sharply that the view from the tee and the shot into the green read like different holes. The course uses that drop, rather than a manufactured hazard, to make the par-four's strategy and scenery inseparable.
