Overview: Handa Golf Links follows a deliberately coastal idea on the edge of Kinuura Bay in Aichi. The official club information lists 18 holes, par 72 and 6,736 yards, with one bent green. Creeks cross and run alongside the fairways, pot bunkers and scattered mounding narrow the safe lines, and the large undulating greens make the final shot as important as the drive. Wind from the bay is a constant strategic variable. The course can look open from the tee, yet the combination of wind, water and green contours quickly rewards a player who chooses the conservative side of the hole.
History: Handa opened on 4 October 1988 and was designed by Yasutaka Tsuhata. The club's own course material presents the layout as an attempt to bring a genuine links character to the Chita Peninsula, using flat seaside ground rather than artificial elevation. Its current operation remains visitor-facing and active, while the original design vocabulary is still easy to recognise in the creeks, pot bunkers, mounds and exposed wind. That makes Handa a useful contrast with Aichi's wooded hill courses and a natural part of the Nagoya-area destination queue.
Did You Know? The official hole guide calls the 12th the signature short hole: the tee shot must carry a creek to a receptive green that falls sharply from back to front. The finishing 18th adds another creek crossing and a steep-faced bunker near the green, so Handa's defining water-and-wind theme continues through the last shot.
