Overview: Hanasaki Country Club occupies a gently south-facing slope in Otsuki, where the fairways are unusually open for a Yamanashi course and most holes keep a straightforward visual line. The official hole table totals 6,201 yards at par 72, with a 3,055-yard outward nine and a 3,146-yard inward nine.
History: Hanasaki's documented chronology points to 2001. Hanasaki opened in September 2001 and is attributed to the Ichikawa Landscaping Civil Engineering design department. Its story is one of a relatively young course that favors a broad, playable presentation over a heavily wooded or highly theatrical routing. The present club materials continue to emphasize flat ground and long, straight corridors.
Did You Know? The course's two nines are almost mirror images in par, but not in distance. The inward nine is 91 yards longer than the outward nine, a small structural difference that makes the return half feel more substantial as the round progresses. Both nines remain par 36, so the distance difference comes from the individual hole lengths rather than from a different par structure.
