Overview: Hamilton Island Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course on nearby Dent Island, where Peter Thomson and Ross Perrett routed the holes along ridges and across steep valleys above the Whitsunday waterways. The par-71 layout measures about 6,140 metres, or roughly 6,717 yards.
History: The course opened in August 2009 and was built as part of the Hamilton Island resort’s golf offering. Its design is driven by the island’s landform: the holes move with the ridges and valleys instead of trying to create a level resort course.
Did You Know? Despite its name, the golf course is located on Dent Island, with the resort connection provided across the water from Hamilton Island.
