Overview: The Highlands Course at Hamilton Farm is a private Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry design on a 730-acre estate in Gladstone, New Jersey. Rolling meadows, wooded hills, streams, old stone walls and carefully engineered bunkers make the course feel integrated with the historic farm landscape.
History: Hurdzan and Fry were selected to add 36 holes to Hamilton Farm, including the full-length Highlands course and the Hickory par-three course. The project had to work around wetlands, steep grades, rock outcrops, horse trails, stone walls and wildlife habitat.
Did You Know? The sixth green sits close to an old dairy barn wall, a deliberate design reference to the way historic links courses sometimes placed greens beside buildings or public spaces.
