Overview: Hamburger Land- und Golf-Club Hittfeld lies just south of Hamburg in a lightly rolling glacial landscape. The parkland course is known for its mature oaks and beeches, long views across the surrounding countryside and a routing that rewards a straight, well-positioned ball. The tree framework gives Hittfeld a calm, established atmosphere, but the fairways and greens still ask for careful decisions. It is a course where the quality of the approach shot often determines how much of the putting surface remains available.
History: Hittfeld was founded in 1957 as a land and golf club based on the Anglo-Saxon model. The original course developed into one of the leading layouts in the Hamburg region. A major redesign by David Krause in 2004 and 2005 refreshed the Morrison-era character and brought the 18 holes up to modern standards while keeping the old-tree setting and gently undulating ground at the centre of the experience.
Did You Know? The club describes itself as an oasis on Hamburg’s southern edge. The phrase is unusually literal here: the course’s tree canopy and glacial landform make the transition from the city’s metropolitan surroundings feel immediate once the round begins.
