Overview: On Jeju's interior plateau, the GolfPlan Hallasan routing takes its visual direction from the island's dominant mountain. Current course records list par 72 at 6,427 yards and describe an 18-hole course combining an Ocean nine with a Mountain nine. That pairing is best understood as a change in outlook rather than a literal coastline layout. Fairways move through woodland and volcanic terrain, with Hallasan's scale keeping the holes visually connected even as elevation and vegetation alter the feel from one section to the next. Jeju's temperate climate and open island air are part of the appeal, but the course remains a strategic 18 holes rather than a scenic walk interrupted by golf.
History: Hallasan opened in May 2007 and became one of the island's accessible full-length golf destinations. The current records identify the course as an 18-hole GolfPlan design, while Jeju tourism material places it within the island's wider golf culture, where mountain and sea views frequently meet in one round. Its name is literal in the most useful sense: the course's identity is organised around the presence of Hallasan, the mountain that dominates the central island landscape.
Did You Know? The published course guide gives the sixteenth hole a par-5 length of 495 metres, making it one of the more substantial holes on the property. It is followed by a large par 3 and another par 3 at the finish of the Mountain nine, a closing sequence that puts distance control and putting touch under the same mountain horizon.
