Overview: The Vintage is a 7,363-yard, par-72 course designed as a conversation with golf's early twentieth-century layouts. Its fairways follow existing terrain through a heavily wooded site, then contrast that natural ground with deep pots, abrupt mounds, blind shots, square-edged features and wicker-style pins. The course occupies more than 250 acres, so it has the space and quiet connections of a core layout while retaining the eccentric details that make older golf memorable.
History: Brian Curley created The Vintage within the ten-course Haikou project, drawing on the named Golden Age references in Mission Hills' brief. The architectural brief looked to National Golf Links, Fishers Island, Maidstone, Chicago Golf Club and Garden City for inspiration. The official page does not record a separate opening year, so the history is tied to the verified Golden Age references and the course's current place in the resort.
Did You Know? Deep pot bunkers, narrow hazards, blind shots and odd geometric shapes are a modern interpretation of the quirks found in classic golf. The result is a course that asks players to accept imperfect sightlines and value imagination as much as distance.
