Overview: Double Pin is an 18-hole par-three course rather than a shortened championship loop. Mission Hills lists it at 1,921 yards and par 54, with every green offering two pin positions. The shorter format is set in an arboretum-style landscape of colourful trees and flowers, making the course useful for beginners and families but also a precise test for players who want to sharpen wedge distance, trajectory and putting.
History: The layout came from the Schmidt-Curley team during its ten-course Haikou commission. It was conceived as one of Mission Hills' short-course experiences, complementing the longer tournament layouts with a routing that can be played quickly and repeatedly. The official course page does not provide a separate opening date.
Did You Know? Two flags sit on every green, one easier and one more difficult. That is the feature behind the name and changes the course from a fixed par-three exercise into a choice of challenge. The same tee shot can be played as a straightforward approach or as a more demanding target, depending on the pin selected for the round.
