Overview: Greensgate Golf & Leisure Resort, formerly Golf Park Plzeň Dýšina, is an 18-hole championship course beside the Klabava River and Lake Ejpovice. Christoph Städler designed the layout on a site marked by former iron-ore mining, using reclamation, mature trees and water to create a woodland course with a strong sense of place. The river and lake frame the property, while the rolling terrain gives the round variety without overwhelming the natural setting.
History: The first ball was struck on 21 August 2004 after passionate local golfers decided to transform the former mining landscape into a course. Städler’s design was carefully inserted into the reclaimed ground, with historic farm buildings retained and restored as part of the resort. In 2017, the venue changed its name to Greensgate and underwent major work on selected greens, tees, bunkers and practice facilities, including an increase to par 72.
Did You Know? The island green at the eleventh has been repeatedly recognised in Czech golf awards and became one of the resort’s signature images. The hole is a fitting expression of Greensgate’s wider design idea, where water from a former industrial landscape becomes both a visual feature and a precise strategic question.
