Overview: Great Southern Golf Club is a historic and world-renowned parkland masterpiece originally designed by the legendary Donald Ross. Opened in 1908, the course is a traditional layout characterized by its technical routing along the Mississippi Sound. The layout meanders through a landscape of natural topography and majestic hardwoods, providing a serene and challenging environment that balances historic charm with Ross’s signature strategic depth. Characterized by its historic significance and its coastal setting, Great Southern provided a rigorous and visually engaging test of golf for over a century.
Did You Know? Regarded as the birthplace of golf in Mississippi, the course sadly closed in 2022 after 114 years of operation to make way for residential development.
