Overview: Golfpark Mieminger Plateau ~ Championship is an 18-hole pine forest on the Mieminger Plateau beneath the Mieminger Range. Designed by Keith Preston, Preston’s pine-forest routing uses the plateau’s space and mountain views, with the Stöttlalm landmark adding a memorable midpoint.Mieminger is a par-73 course of about 7,128 yards, giving Keith Preston’s pine-forest routing serious scale beneath the range. The pine forest creates a coherent frame for the holes, while the mountain range gives exposed approaches a changing horizon and a strong sense of scale.
History: The resort first developed a nine-hole hotel course and added the present 18-hole Championship Course in 2008. Keith Preston designed it in approximately 70,000 square metres of pine forest, and the course became recognized as a leading new Austrian layout. Mieminger’s earlier hotel course and later Championship Course are distinct stages of one resort. The 2008 date is used for the ranked 18-hole routing because that is when Preston’s pine-forest course arrived.
Did You Know? The tenth hole is associated with the Stöttlalm alpine hut beside the course. The forest is the principal architectural material, not just a backdrop. The Stöttlalm hut beside the tenth gives Mieminger one of the more distinctive halfway settings in Alpine golf.
