Overview: Situated in the Dolomites at the foot of the Schlern mountain, Golfclub St. Vigil Seis offers a dramatic mountain course. The routing features significant elevation changes, mountain streams, and deep gorges. The tight fairways are bordered by alpine meadows and forests, while the small, fast greens demand precise iron play and careful reading of the mountain slopes.
History: Designed by German architect Thomas Himmel, the 18-hole course opened in 2007, replacing a smaller practice facility. Himmel carefully routed the holes to navigate the challenging alpine slopes and preserve the natural watercourses of the South Tyrol region. The layout has since become recognized as one of the most scenic and technically challenging mountain courses in the Alps.
Did You Know? The course features a spectacular par three on the 15th hole that requires a long carry over a deep gorge, dropping nearly sixty feet from an elevated tee to a green cut into the mountainside.
