Overview: Golfclub Schwanhof is a gently hilly championship course in the Oberpfalz near Luhe-Wildenau. The layout occupies former agricultural land and combines broad natural spaces with water, woodland edges, biotopes and carefully planted specimen trees. Reinhold Weishaupt and US Open champion Jerry Pate created a course with an unmistakable American influence, but the routing remains closely tied to the local terrain. It is a strategic, full-scale test that rewards precision without losing its sense of openness.
History: Entrepreneur Klaus Conrad began developing the Schwanhof idea at the end of the 1980s. The 18-hole championship course opened in 1994 after the design work of Weishaupt and Pate. The facility grew into a leading German golf destination and has continued to develop its environmental and playing infrastructure while retaining the original landscape concept.
Did You Know? Around 90 fruit trees are part of the course’s ecological landscape. They add seasonal colour and support biodiversity, but they also function as individual visual markers that help players understand the shape of the holes.
