Overview: Golfclub Salzburg ~ Championship Eugendorf is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course east of Salzburg, set among the forest clearings, gentle fairways, ditches and biotopes of the Salzburger Alpenvorland. The official course card lists 6,235 metres from the white tees, about 6,819 yards, with shorter yellow, blue, red and orange options. The layout uses its natural edges rather than a single dramatic hazard: woodland channels narrow the view, ponds shape selected holes and the softly rolling terrain makes positioning important throughout the round.
History: The club’s official course record dates the Championship Course Eugendorf to 1999. A 2012 Golf Magazin course listing identifies Peter Maierhofer as its architect and notes substantial rebuilding work between 2009 and 2011; the current club and regional tourism pages confirm the same 18-hole, par-72 identity and the present course character. Eugendorf is part of the Salzburg golf group, but it must not be confused with nearby Gut Altentann, the separate Jack Nicklaus Design course in the same region.
Did You Know? The course sits close to Salzburg yet is presented as a landscape of woodland openings, water channels and small biotopes rather than an urban course. Its white-tee card reaches 6,235 metres, while the five published tee colours give the same routing several distinct playing scales. That combination helps explain why Eugendorf can be a serious championship test without losing its approachable parkland rhythm.
