Overview: Golfclub Norderney is a traditional links course located on the East Frisian island of Norderney in the North Sea. The layout plays through natural sand dunes, gorse, and beach grasses, exposing players to strong winds. The design features small, elevated greens and deep sod-walled bunkers.
History: Established in 1927, the course is one of the oldest links layouts in Germany. It evolved from a simple three-hole setup built in 1922 to a complete nine-hole routing, with major design modifications supervised by Christian Sibbersen in 1956.
Did You Know? The course is located entirely within a national park, meaning no heavy machinery was used to shape the fairways. Instead, the natural contours of the sand dunes dictate the strategic path of each hole.
