Overview: Golfclub Linz St. Florian is an 18-hole tree-lined parkland at Tillysburg near St. Florian in Upper Austria. Harradine’s tree-lined routing moves through the Tillysburg estate, where gentle rises and approach angles make position more valuable than spectacle. The course measures about 6,667 yards for a par-72 round, making Harradine’s tree-lined positioning especially important. Its parkland character comes from the sequence of tree-framed holes and open estate views, with approach angles often more influential than the headline yardage.
History: The club began in 1960 at Puchenau, moved to Tillysburg, developed its first nine there during the 1970s, and later completed the 18-hole course. Official history also records redesign work in the mid-1990s. The Linz club’s move from Puchenau to Tillysburg created the setting for the course known today. Later redesign work refined the staged layout without erasing its early Upper Austrian golf history.
Did You Know? Golfclub Linz St. Florian grew from a nine-hole beginning into one of Upper Austria’s early full golf facilities. Tillysburg was not the club’s first home. The move from Puchenau is the turning point that leads to the present Linz St. Florian course.
