Overview: Golfclub Kitzbühel is the historic nine-hole historic nine-hole Schloss Kaps course in Kitzbühel. Designed by Graf Max Lamberg, The compact Schloss Kaps routing relies on parkland trees, small changes in elevation, and the challenge of playing a nine-hole loop more than raw length. The nine-hole Schloss Kaps course is par 70 and about 3,067 yards, so strategy and repeated loops matter more than full-course length. Because the course is nine holes, a second loop can turn a familiar hole into a different problem when the wind, pin position, or chosen tee changes.
History: Golf first reached Schloss Kaps in 1955. The course was later redesigned and has been played in its current nine-hole form since 2005, with Max Graf Lamberg associated with the modern work. Schwarzsee and Eichenheim are separate Kitzbühel layouts. The current nine-hole Schloss Kaps course is the result of a historic 1955 beginning and later redesign. Its history should not be merged with Schwarzsee or Eichenheim, which are separate Kitzbühel courses.
Did You Know? Schloss Kaps is a ranked experience where nine holes are the defining format, not a reduced 18-hole course. Its historic beginning predates the area’s later full-length courses. Schloss Kaps remains a genuine nine-hole course. Playing a second loop is part of the intended experience, not evidence of a missing nine.
