Overview: Golfclub Donau ~ 18 Loch is an 18-hole open parkland in the Eferding Basin at Feldkirchen an der Donau. Designed by Erwin Windhofer and Christoph Schilchegger, Windhofer and Schilchegger use the open basin, natural edges, and water features to create a course whose best lines depend on positioning. The official metric scorecard gives Donau 6,095 metres, approximately 6,667 yards, for a par-72 Championship Course. Natural edges and water features help separate the safest route from the most obvious route, a pattern that makes the course rewarding for repeat play.
History: Golfclub Donau dates the Championship Course to 1991 rather than 1992 and names both architects. The club now has 27 holes, including a separate nine-hole Lakeside Course, while the ranked identity is the 18-hole par-72 course. Donau’s corrected 1991 date, named architects, and metric scorecard resolve the earlier placeholder data. The later Lakeside nine belongs to the wider facility, not to the ranked Championship Course.
Did You Know? The official white-tee length is 6,095 metres, approximately 6,667 yards. The metric scorecard and imperial directory value describe the same course. Donau’s official scorecard publishes metres, while the directory uses yards. The two figures are conversion checks for the same white-tee course.
