Overview: Golfclub Brand is a breathtaking 18-hole mountain course situated at an elevation of 1,000 meters in the scenic Brandnertal valley of Vorarlberg. Designed by Diethard Fahrenleitner and opened in 1993, the course is a technical parkland-mountain hybrid that follows the natural contours of the Alvierbach stream. Surrounded by the imposing Rätikon mountain range and offering spectacular views of the Brand Glacier, it is a scenic and slightly hilly layout that rewards precision and creative shot-making in a high-altitude setting.
History: The club was established to provide an elite alpine golfing experience in one of Austria's most picturesque mountain valleys. The course was intentionally integrated into the existing landscape, utilizing historic dry stone walls and traditional mountain huts as part of its aesthetic and strategic design. Over the years, it has become a popular destination for golfers seeking a unique round that combines rigorous sporting challenge with a serene, panoramic mountain environment.
Did You Know? Despite its relatively short yardage and par of 65, the course is considered extremely technical due to its narrow, stream-influenced fairways and the psychological challenge of playing beneath the towering glacial peaks? Brand's combination of historical alpine architecture and modern mountain design provides a memorable round that highlights the wild and rugged beauty of Western Austria.
