Overview: Westwoud has two very different nines, and that contrast is exactly what makes the course so enjoyable. One side is more intimate and tree-lined with noticeable movement in the ground, while the newer holes open up into the wider, water-rich West Frisian landscape. That shift in scenery keeps the round fresh and gives the course more tactical variety than you might expect. It is a fun, very complete public-course experience.
History: The original nine holes were laid out by architect Gerard Jol in 1985. The course expanded to 18 holes in 2005, adding a distinctly more open, links-like flavour to the older parkland-style side of the property. The club is situated between Hoorn and Enkhuizen in the West Frisian region of the Netherlands [golfbaanwestwoud.nl](https://golfbaanwestwoud.nl/).
Did You Know? The course is a par 71 and plays 6,452 yards. It is a public-access facility that also hosts the Pro Golf Tour [golfbaanwestwoud.nl](https://golfbaanwestwoud.nl/).
