Overview: Golfanlage Millstätter See is an 18-hole wooded and open mountain terrain above Lake Millstatt. Designed by Paul Hauser, Paul Hauser’s course alternates wooded and open ground, letting lake-district views appear between more enclosed mountain holes.Millstätter See plays to par 72 over about 6,430 yards, with alternating mountain and woodland holes creating the variety. The course’s gentle mountain terrain creates a walkable rhythm, but exposed greens and changes in lie ensure that distance control remains central to the round.
History: The course was established in 1995 and has been used for Challenge Tour and other high-level events. Paul Hauser’s design has matured into a settled mountain course, with lake-district views alternating with woodland corridors. The 1995 date identifies the full course’s established beginning, while later events show that the layout has been capable of hosting serious play without losing its regional mountain character.
Did You Know? Lake Millstatt shapes the atmosphere without appearing on every hole. The balance between lake views and inland woodland is central to the layout. Lake Millstatt is close enough to shape the atmosphere, yet the course remains a woodland and mountain layout rather than a shoreline design.
