Overview: Golf Isla Valdecañas occupies an island in the reservoir near El Gordo, Cáceres. Its 18-hole par-72 layout measures about 6,319 metres and uses broad fairways, large greens, and carefully placed bunkers against views of the Sierra de Guadalupe and Gredos.
History: The course opened to the public in 2011 as part of the Isla de Valdecañas development. Spanish federation material credits Álvaro Arana, supported by the Global Green project team, with a design shaped through substantial earthworks on the reservoir island.
Did You Know? The island setting places the course among reservoir water and a landscape used by migratory birds. Broad fairways and wide greens keep the round playable while mountain and water views remain present from many holes.
