Overview: The Mnich Course at Golf Resort Monachus occupies a quiet, undulating landscape near Nová Bystřice in the Czech Canada region. Designed by the Hauser brothers, it blends broad fairways, forest edges and open meadows at roughly 600 metres above sea level. The par 73 routing has a spacious natural feel, but the changing lies and secluded setting require thoughtful positioning rather than a purely aggressive approach.
History: Monachus developed as a 27-hole complex. The original Nová Bystřice nine-hole course was established in 2001, and the Mnich championship course followed in 2004, with a clubhouse and restaurant added during the next stage of the project. The resort’s history is closely tied to the decision to build golf in a lightly developed border landscape where the course could be integrated into existing nature rather than imposed on an urban site.
Did You Know? The name Czech Canada refers to the region’s wooded scenery, cooler climate and extensive natural landscape near the Austrian border. Monachus makes that setting part of its identity: the resort combines the 18-hole Mnich course with a separate nine-hole layout, creating a golf complex that feels deliberately remote from major cities and busy roads.
