Overview: Located in the spectacular Engadin valley in the Swiss Alps, Golf Engadin Zuoz-Madulain is an 18-hole alpine parkland course designed by Canadian architect Les Furber. The layout winds across a relatively flat valley floor bordered by thick pine forests and the Inn River, featuring wide fairways, strategic sand hazards, and beautifully contoured greens. The course offers a highly strategic but walkable test of golf, set against a dramatic backdrop of towering, snow-capped alpine peaks.
History: Opened in 2002 as the second championship venue of the historic Engadin Golf Club (originally founded in 1893), Zuoz-Madulain was built to establish a premier 36-hole alpine resort in conjunction with the older Samedan course. Furber utilized the scenic valley terrain to create a modern layout that contrasts with the traditional architecture of its historic sister course.
Did You Know? Due to its high alpine altitude of nearly 1,700 meters (5,500 feet) above sea level, the thin mountain air allows golf balls to fly significantly further than normal. This natural distance boost helps players tame the course's championship yardage while enjoying the crisp alpine environment.
