Overview: Golf de Roquebrune is set between the Côte d’Azur and the Massif des Maures, with the course looking across the Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël bay from rolling, wooded ground. The routing is narrow and winding, with elevation changes, natural vegetation and views that make the player manage both the line and the lie. Its Provençal character comes from cork and holm oaks, dry ground and Mediterranean light, while the resort setting adds hotel and spa facilities around the course.
History: The club’s history places the original golf project in 1988 and credits Udo Barth with the first 18-hole layout. Later redevelopment was required after parts of the course fell into disrepair and nine holes were lost to an unrealized residential project. Michel Guyon was then brought in to remodel the property, and the 18-hole course returned to play in 2009. The current course record uses 1989 for the profile date, so the description keeps the late-1980s origin separate from the later restoration.
Did You Know? The official course history says the redevelopment retained the existing green oaks and introduced additional vegetation to protect the site’s natural character. The layout is listed at par 71 and 5,781 metres, approximately 6,321 yards, with the bay and the red rock of Roquebrune shaping its most visible setting.
