Overview: Golf de L’Isle Adam occupies a 200-hectare wooded estate in the Oise valley, with the course moving between forested ground and a higher open plateau. Ronald Fream’s routing uses naturally undulating fairways, broad greens and changes in setting to create variety without relying on excessive earthworks. The approach to each green asks a different question about angle and distance, while the restored eighteenth-century farmhouse clubhouse anchors the property’s rural identity.
History: Ronald Fream designed and conceived the course, which opened in 1995. The operator describes the design philosophy as a course that should give every player an attainable goal while still offering stronger players a demanding test. From the beginning, the layout was intended as a synthesis of British and American influences: woodland holes provide definition and the plateau opens the views toward the surrounding valley.
Did You Know? The club house is housed in a restored eighteenth-century farmhouse, and the estate contains century-old trees within a listed natural setting. The operator’s published course reference gives the layout at roughly 6,188 metres, approximately 6,772 yards, from the back tees.
