Overview: The Trent Jones course at Golf de Bondues is an 18-hole parkland layout north of Lille, set across a broad property where water hazards, bunkers and mature planting define the playing lines. The routing is deliberately spacious from the tee, but the landing areas are defended often enough to make target selection important. Large greens, trees and water create the classic target-golf character associated with the Robert Trent Jones school, while the course's two-stage authorship gives it a particularly interesting identity. Nine holes were created by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and the remaining nine were completed by his son, Robert Trent Jones Jr.
History: Golf de Bondues was created in 1968. The Trent Jones project began with Robert Trent Jones Sr. producing the first nine holes in 1967, when the site had fewer members, financial resources and available land. As the club expanded, it built the final nine holes in 1990. Robert Trent Jones Sr. was no longer travelling, so his son completed the course, creating the full 18-hole routing represented by this directory profile. The date used here therefore refers to the completed Trent Jones course, while the first nine remain an important part of its story.
Did You Know? Bondues is a rare course where the father-and-son design sequence can be read directly in the finished routing. The first nine belong to Robert Trent Jones Sr., while Robert Trent Jones Jr. completed the second nine in 1990. Water and bunkers are not decorative additions here; the club describes them as central to the technical identity of the course.
