Golf d'Hardelot (Les Dunes)

Overview: Les Dunes is the newer of Hardelot’s two 18-hole courses, set among lakes, sandy mounds and wooded valleys on the Côte d’Opale. The routing is more rolling and target-oriented than the older Pins course, with changes of elevation and water coming into play as the holes move across the site. Pine forest frames many of the views, while the open dune land leaves enough room for coastal wind to influence club selection and shot shape.

History: The project was developed in the late 1980s as a second course for Hardelot. Club history records Paul Rollin and Jean-Claude Cornillot as the architects selected for the new layout, which opened in 1991. Les Dunes was intended to complement the established Pins course rather than imitate it: Pins follows the older wooded tradition, while Dunes introduced a newer, more undulating style to the same golf destination. Later work has refreshed parts of the routing without changing its basic identity.

Did You Know? The current scorecard lists Les Dunes as an 18-hole par-70 course measuring 5,334 metres from the white tees, approximately 5,849 yards. The scorecard also shows six par threes, a pattern that helps explain why the course reaches par 70 despite its full championship length.
