Overview: Apremont is a wooded parkland course in the Oise, close to Chantilly and within easy reach of Paris. Its long, tree-separated holes create two different rhythms: the opening nine uses doglegs and woodland corridors, while the closing nine is more direct and asks for consistent ball striking. Only a small number of ponds interrupt the site, so the course’s main defense is the relationship between tree lines, fairway width and the angle of the approach.
History: The course was designed by John Jacobs with Olivier Dongradi and dates from 1992. The design reflects Jacobs’s strategic approach, giving players multiple routes while making the consequences of an inaccurate line clear. Apremont forms part of the Oise golf landscape around Chantilly, where forest, former estates and carefully managed open ground provide the setting for several historic and modern courses.
Did You Know? The regional golf guide lists Apremont at 6,395 metres, approximately 6,995 yards, and par 72. It also describes the unusual balance of the layout: the first nine are separated by trees and shaped with doglegs, while the final nine are straighter and place more emphasis on sustained driving.
