Overview: Located on the slopes of the Jura Mountains overlooking Lake Geneva, Golf & Country Club de Bonmont is an 18-hole private parkland course designed by Donald Harradine. Routed through a historic estate featuring ancient oak and beech forests, the layout is characterized by rolling fairways, natural streams, and beautifully contoured greens. The course demands strategic tee shots to navigate the tree-lined corridors and precise approach angles to reach the well-guarded putting surfaces.
History: Founded in 1980, the club is set on the grounds of a historic 12th-century abbey. Harradine carefully routed the 18 holes to preserve the ancient forest and the historic estate boundaries, creating a highly strategic layout. In 2002, golf architect Peter Harradine completed a comprehensive modernization that updated the bunkers and greens to USGA standards.
Did You Know? The club's spectacular clubhouse is a beautifully restored 12th-century Cistercian abbey, providing one of the most historic and atmospheric clubhouses in the entire world of golf. The abbey's chapel and historic stone cloisters remain fully intact and border the first fairway.
