Overview: Located inside the historic Monza Park north of Milan, Italy, the Primo/Secondo course at Golf Club Milano is a classic 18-hole parkland course designed by James Peter Gannon and Cecil Blandford. Winding through a dense, mature forest of oak, hornbeam, and chestnut trees, the layout features flat, narrow fairways and small, well-defended green complexes. The course requires precise tee shots and disciplined iron play to navigate the tight, tree-lined corridors and avoid the strategically placed sand hazards.
History: Founded in 1928, Golf Club Milano is one of Italy's oldest and most established clubs, serving as a primary venue for Italian competitive golf. The Gannon and Blandford routing has remained remarkably true to its original layout, carefully preserving the historic park environment. The club has hosted the Italian Open a record nine times, including the 1990, 2015, and 2016 tournaments.
Did You Know? The course is situated directly adjacent to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the famous Formula 1 racetrack. During the late summer Italian Grand Prix practice weeks, players on the fairways can hear the roar of racing engines echoing through the silent forest canopy.
