Overview: The Golf Club at Ravenna occupies a dramatic red-rock and foothill site in Littleton, where Jay Morrish used ravines, exposed stone and changing elevation to create a course with a strong Colorado identity. The routing is private and residential in setting, but the architecture is not suburban in character. Holes turn through open ground and rocky corridors, with the landform creating natural separation between fairways and a sequence of elevated views. Approach shots are shaped by uneven lies, sloping greens and the need to understand the ground beyond the target.
History: Ravenna opened in 2007 as the final golf course design of Colorado native Jay Morrish. The community around it later passed through the 2008 financial crisis and a difficult rebuilding period before new ownership took control in 2015. The course itself remained the central asset through that change, and the club’s later development has been built around preserving its landscape, private character and Morrish’s original routing.
Did You Know? Ravenna was Morrish’s last course design, a fitting detail for a layout that makes such deliberate use of the Colorado foothills. The site’s red rock outcrops are not simply scenic markers. They help define corridors, frame sightlines and make the course read as a series of distinct natural rooms rather than one continuous suburban property.
