Overview: Perched on the gentle Mediterranean slopes of Mutxamel, just minutes from the sands of Alicante, Golf Bonalba is a balanced and strategic 18-hole championship course. Designed by the acclaimed Spanish architect Ramón Espinosa and inaugurated in 1993, the par-72 layout is celebrated for its lush environmental design, integrating five expansive lakes and a significant number of strategically placed bunkers. The course offers a diverse competitive experience, with a technical front nine that culminates in a notoriously difficult four-hole stretch known locally as "Amen Corner." In contrast, the back nine opens up to reward powerful driving and thoughtful navigation of the coastal winds, all while providing sweeping views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Did You Know? Bonalba has a rich competitive heritage, having served as a proving ground for the next generation of stars on the European Challenge Tour. The course’s sophisticated microclimate, created by its high density of Mediterranean palm and pine trees, makes it a favored year-round destination for both professional practice and luxury golf holidays. Its unique combination of technical "short-game" holes and expansive "long-game" challenges ensures that no two rounds at Bonalba are ever the same, perfectly capturing the dynamic spirit of the Costa Blanca.
