Overview: Golf Arboretum is an 18-hole parkland course at Radomlje, immediately beside the Volčji Potok Arboretum north of Ljubljana. Italian architect Marco Croze worked with Slovenian architect Peter Škofič on a layout of rolling fairways, wooded edges and open views toward the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The directory records par 71 and approximately 5,962 yards. The course's setting is unusually varied for a compact inland destination: one moment the eye is drawn across broad turf and distant mountains, and the next the route folds into trees, slopes and the botanical park's mature landscape. Recent renovation work has also introduced thousands of new trees, strengthening the course's parkland character.
History: The golf club grew from a practice ground associated with the Volčji Potok area and was established in the 1990s, with the 18-hole course recorded from 1998. It developed alongside the Arboretum, a botanical park whose history reaches back to its creation in 1952 by the University of Ljubljana. That relationship is central to the identity of the course: the golf facility is not an isolated resort development, but part of a larger cultural and horticultural landscape. More recent improvements have refreshed the routing and planting while keeping the connection with the surrounding park visible throughout the round.
Did You Know? The course sits next to one of Slovenia's best-known botanical collections. Volčji Potok Arboretum covers about 85 hectares and contains thousands of plant taxa, so a visit can combine a full golf round with a very different kind of landscape walk. The pairing of a championship course and a major botanical park is rare, and it explains why Arboretum feels more like a complete day destination than a standalone golf stop.
